KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Paul Woodham
Agronomy lead for UK and Europe at The R&A
Paul Woodham, Agronomy lead for UK and Europe at The R&A, has over 30 years’ experience in golf course management. Paul’s career began in greenkeeping and progressed with 14 years as a professionally qualified and experienced agronomist. He has worked across all types of course ranging from public and private operations and across Members courses to Tour and Resort venues with experience in tournament monitoring.
Tom Young
Associate and Blue-Green Infrastructure Specialist at The Environment Partnership
Tom is an applied research scientist and project manager with interests in the applied nature of green and blue infrastructure across a wide range of industries ranging from water security, urban design, landscape restoration, ecohydrology, and agriculture. He was a 2022 Nuffield Farming Scholar – investigating long-term water security in the agricultural, horticultural and amenity sectors, and works for The Environment Partnership (TEP), which is an integrated multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy.
Tom leads TEP’s ecohydrology service which focuses on landscape restoration, water security for facilities and wetland habitat provision. He specialises in working with golf facilities to source alternative water sources to ensure their long-term security.
Scott Reeves
Membership Director at BIGGA
Scott has worked in the golf industry for over 30 years and was formerly the course manager at Leyland Golf Club, where he spent 17 years. From 2019 to 2022 he was BIGGA Chairperson and he has volunteered at every level of the association.
Scott became BIGGA’s Head of Membership in June 2024 and is now Membership Director
Kirsten McEvoy
Head of Sustainability at England Golf
Kirstin has been working in sustainability in sport for 16 years, initially in the horse racing industry at The Jockey Club before moving to England Golf in 2025. She is a strong advocate of collaboration and has been a Director of BASIS (British Association for Sustainable Sport) since its inception in 2011. Over the years she has won awards for employee engagement, been part of cross-sport working groups and supported smaller organisations develop their sustainability plans.
Kirstin’s ambition is to support golf to become synonymous with excellent environmental practice and a place to enjoy nature for golfers and their communities
