Alex is Champion!

Heythrop Park Golf Club hosted the 25 & Over championship on Friday 27th June. Alex Stubbs (Frilford Heath) set the pace by posting a very steady score of 71 (-1). Jamie Cook (Burford) used his course knowledge to his advantage but two late doubles hindered his chance of winning. Justin Rhodes (Woburn) shot 78 (+6) to take the lead in the Over 50’s age division. Shane Slatter (Calcot Park) had a start even the pro’s dream of after making 2 birdies and an albatross to be -5 after 5 holes. However he was unable to keep the pace going and dropped down the leaderboard. Jeremy Twaits from Goring & Streatley secured the handicap prize with a very impressive net 70 (-2) – the only player to beat their handicap! Alex’s 71 remained at the top of leaderboard throughout the day and secured the win.

Congratulations to Alex on being crowned the Over 25 Champion after finishing runner up three times previously!
