Thrilling Futures Tour Final

After the Futures Tour’s most successful season yet, the top players from the U12, U14 & U16 Order of Merits arrived at Frilford Heath for the Futures Tour Final. The damp, cool conditions made the course play it’s full length and provided a fantastic test for all of the players. Despite this, Billyjoe Temple (Buckinghamshire) was able to rise to the occasion and shot +2 (74) to take the clubhouse lead in the U16 division. Billyjoe’s lead didn’t last long as Logan Matthews (Goring & Streatley) had 3 birdies in his final 6 holes to secure victory with a 69 (-3) – a fantastic score! Ollie O’Dell (The Springs) lead the way in the U16 Order of Merit with only Isaac Hayes (Feldon Valley) within touching distance. After a few late dropped shots on the front nine, Ollie was able to steady the ship on the closing nine to finish +6 for his round and secure the Order of Merit title.

Dominic Rosser (The Caversham) & Vinnie James (Drayton Park) were neck and neck in the U14 Order of Merit with  just this event to separate them but both were going to struggle to beat Rhian Morjaria (Woburn) who took the lead in the U14’s with an impressive score of 73 (+1). The battle for the U14 Order of Merit title continued as Vinnie shot 84 but Dominic was able to sneak ahead by just one shot to secure the Order of Merit title.

Having been victorious in four of the six previous Futures Tour events, the pressure was off Arthur Scott (The Caversham) as he had secured the U12 Order of Merit before starting his round at Frilford Heath. With just the Futures Tour Final to concentrate on, Beau Wheeler (Burford) took the honours after shooting 78 (+6) beating Reuben Crighton (Lambourne) on countback.

This is the first year the Futures Tour has been recognised as a DP World Tour Approved Development Program and we hope to continue to grow the tour and provide BB&O players with a competitive environment to help them thrive and develop as players. Thank you to Titliest for sponsoring the Futures Tour!

Congratulations to our Futures Tour Order of Merit winners – Arthur, Dominic & Ollie.
