Darren Gatward (Calcot Park) won the Penfold Trophy at Mentmore on 13th June. Due to the poor entries to the Amateur Championship, there was nor quliafying tournament this year. The Trophy was awarded to the leading non exempt 36 hole score on day 1 of the Championship and Darren was a clear winner by 5 shots after finishing a very creditable level par for 2 rounds.
