Seniors Championship 2017

Seniors Championship 2017

The 2017 Seniors Championship was held at Burnham Beeches on Thursday 11th & Friday 12th May. With such a strong Seniors section amongst B&O it was always going to be a tight, high quality affair. 36 holes was not enough to split George Wilson (Calcot Park) and David Niven (Newbury & Crookham) who had tied on 145. After the three hole play off David was crowned the 2017 Seniors Champion. Back in third place on 149 was Michael Warwick (Burnham Beeches) and in fourth was Cliff Pearce (Whiteleaf). David Niven will represent BB&O at the Champion of Champions tournament at Woodhall Spa of which he also won last year.

George Wilson (55-59) and David Niven (60-64) sealed their respective Age Group titles while Robert Gill (Gerrards Cross) won the 65-69 category and Chris Osborne (Temple) won the Over 70 group. The net competition was very close with David Williams (Castle Royle) winning it with a combined net of 143. Bob Launder (Datchet) beat Cliff Pearce (Whiteleaf) to second spot on countback with both players having a net total of 144. Lastly the team championship was won by Tim Whittaker, Michael Saunders & Finbarr O’Connor of Beaconsfield.
