Futures Tour North Oxford

Futures Tour North Oxford

We were blessed with great weather for the Futures Tour event at North Oxford. The course which is very demanding from the tee was playing firm and fast and it proved to be a good test for the boys. The U12 gross section was won by Simon Mead (Newbury & Crookham) with an excellent 74 which beat Daniel Butteriss (Wexham Park) by five after he fired a 79. The net section was won by Jack Walters (Goring & Streatley) with a fine score of 67. This beat Alfie Westbrook (Frilford Heath) by two strokes after he shot 69.

The U14 gross section and taking home the trophy was Edward Wang (Wokefield Park) with an excellent score of 74. In second and losing on countback was Luke Perkins (Frilford Heath). The net section was won by Jack Parry (Hadden Hill) after he fired a best of the day 62. This was good enough to beat Joseph Antonelli-Pike (Donnington Grove) by three.

The U15 gross section was won by Huw Pearson (Buckingham) after he signed for a 74. This meant all three gross age group winners shot 74. Back in second was Harry Thomas (Frilford Heath) who also shot 74. The net section was won by Ben Loveard (Woburn) with a 72 which beat Harry Gale (Goring & Streatley) by one stroke.

Our thanks go to the staff at North Oxford for their hospitality throughout the day. The tour moves to Sand Martins on Thursday 26th July.
