Tim Whittaker gets third in English Seniors

BB&O’s Tim Whittaker (Beaconsfield) finished third behind Surrey’s Ian Attoe in the English Senior Men;s Open Amateur Championship at Holme Hall in Lincolnshire.

Attoe defended his title by leading wire to wire and although a number of players were closely in touch after the first round, including Tim, Attoe eventually pulled away to win by some margin. Tim shot scores of 69, 73, 73 for a total of 215 (+2).

George Wilson (Calcot Park) who captains the BB&O seniors finished tied 13th on +6 and Michael Sanders (Beaconsfield) finished in 29th place on +10. The other BB&O player to make the cut was David Niven (Newbury & Crookham) who finished in tied 39th place.
