Birdseye wins the double

There was a strong field for our Autumn Trophy at The Lambourne with 45 amateurs competing. Alongside the Autumn Trophy, the amateurs compete against the professionals for the BB&O Open Trophy. Oliver Jones (Tadmarton Heath) set an early clubhouse target of 70 (-2) after holing out for eagle on the 18th. Oliver was leading both events until Damien Woodward (Pro) and David Langley (Pro) both came in with 69 (-3) in the BB&O Open. It all came down to the last group of the day, Adam Wootton (Pro) and Adam Birdseye (Maidenhead) both shot 68 (-4) with Adam Birdseye holing a 30ft putt on the last to win both the Autumn Trophy and BB&O Open (on count back). Ironically Birdseye got a putting lesson from his playing partner Wootton the day before. Adam became the first amateur to win the BB&O Open, a great result!
