Johnny wins the Spring Trophy

Johnny wins the Spring Trophy

With a record breaking number of entries, the Spring Trophy was set to be a great event. The weather was challenging, with over 40mph winds and rain the players knuckled down for a tough round ahead. George Kent (Studley Wood) set a clubhouse target of 72 (+2) which Johnny Griggs (Stoke Park) beat by 2 shots to take the top of the leaderboard. As the rain got heavier it looked as though level par would be a hard score to beat. Rory Browne (Feldon Valley) birdied the last hole to slip into second place with +1 (71). Johnny’s level par was enough to secure the victory! While Huw Pearson (Buckingham) sneaked into 3rd place on count back to Ben McFadden (Castle Royle), George Kent (Studley Wood) and Tom Wilde (Lambourne). George Kent’s nett 71 won the nett prize.

Congratulations to Johnny on a very solid round of golf in challenging conditions!
