Ryan & Harrison are Champions!

The Club Foursomes took place at The Springs on Friday 27th May. 76 players representing nearly 30 clubs within BB&O competed for their chance to get their name on the trophy. After round 1, the leaderboard was congested with only 4 shots between the leaders and the pair in 12th position. Ryan Greenwood and Harrison Leivers from Tadmarton Heath snuck ahead on level par (72) 2 shots ahead of Leon Beer and Richard Lee from Goring & Streatley. 2021 champions Adam Birdseye and Alfie Forisky (Maidenhead) had a slow start and we’re heading into the final round 8 shots behind. Justin Rhodes and John Kemp from Woburn leave themselves 2 shots back heading into the final round, it was all to play for.

Ryan and Harrison made a crucial eagle on 17 in the afternoon to shoot +1, this meant that they finished +1 for the tournament which looked good enough to clinch the victory. With the final group left to come in, Ryan and Harrison were holding onto their lead 3 shots ahead of Zac Jones and Tom Fallon from Henley. Alfie and Adam had 7 birdies on their way to shooting 68 (-4). Despite the impressive second round, Alfie and Adam fell short finishing in 3rd position. Justin and John had another steady round to finish +3 for the event to sneak into 2nd place ahead of Alfie and Adam. Having previously been crowned Club Foursomes Scratch Champions, Leon and Richard thought it was about time to get their names on the Handicap Trophy! Congratulations to Leon and Richard from Goring & Streatley on winning the Club Foursomes Handicap Championship by 1 shot!

Congratulations to Ryan and Harrison on a great tournament and becoming our Club Foursomes Scratch Champions!
