Connor is crowned U25 Champion

The mixed U25 championship took place at Huntercombe Golf Club over 18 holes where over 40 players were competing to become the BB&O U25 Champion! Tommy Evans (Beaconsfield) set the pace with a gross 72 (2+) which looked as if it would stay at the top of the leaderboard for a while as the wind picked up and the heavy rain showers came in. Michael Stark (Castle Royle) had a steady round finishing just one short of Tommy with a gross 73. Ben McFadden (Castle Royle) and Harry Thomas (Frilford Heath) were able to match a 72 and sneak ahead on the leaderboard. Connor Jacob (Goring & Streatley) had 2 birdies in the last 3 holes to shoot a very impressive 69 (-1) in some challenging conditions to take the lead. Tom Bell (Beaconsfield) had the steadiest round of the day with 2 bogeys and 2 birdies to finish with a level par 70 just one behind Connor. Taylor Paul (Harleyford) birded the 17th to finish with a gross 70 which left him 3rd on count back. Connor’s 69 was good enough to stay at the top of the leaderboard. Ciara Egan (Woburn) took the prize for the best girl with a gross 76 (+4) while Thomas Taylor-Cross (The Springs) beat Tommy Evans on count back to the win the handicap prize with a net 70.

Congratulations to Connor Jacob on becoming the BB&O U25 Champion – a very well deserved win!
