Freddie wins back-to-back

Freddie wins back-to-back

The BB&O Futures Tour headed to Maidenhead on Thursday 17th August. The weather had improved and the sun was shining but a stiff breeze and fast greens made for a challenging test. Luke Waldegrave (Gerrards Cross) took advantage of the  good conditions shooting 87 (nett 68) to set a clubhouse target in the U12’s category. Flynn Kennard (Bearwood Lakes) managed to sneak ahead of Luke after shooting a 84. Sebastian Duffield (Sand Martins) continued his fine form by snatching the U12’s title in the gross category after shooting a 79.

Thomas James (Frilford Heath) had a great round with very few mistakes shooting 76 – a fantastic round which led the way in the U14’s event. Logan Matthews (Bearwood Lakes) made a birdie on 17 and holed out for a birdie on 18 to pip Thomas by 1. Freddie Wheeler (Tadmarton Heath) had a very steady round however a double bogey on the last hole left a sour taste in his mouth. Freddie finished with a 71 (+1) which set a target for the final group. Despite Freddie’s finish, 71 was good enough to clinch the U16’s title.

Congratulations to Sebastian, Logan and Freddie on their wins.
