Woburn Golf Club’s John Kemp has cemented his place in English senior golf history after capturing a third consecutive English Senior Men’s Stroke Play Championship title.
Competing across Woodbridge and Ipswich (Purdis Heath) Golf Clubs, Kemp finished as the only player under par for the championship, producing rounds of 69, 68 and 73 to claim victory by four shots. The win makes him just the second golfer ever to secure three straight English Senior Men’s Stroke Play Championship crowns.
Kemp’s success was built on two outstanding opening rounds that gave him a strong platform heading into the final day. Despite challenging weather conditions throughout the week, he maintained his composure and closed out the championship with a controlled final-round performance.
Meanwhile the other BB&O representatives were John Kennedy, Tim Whittaker, Darren Gatward, George Wilson, Mike Sanders, Chris Harrison, Gary Mumford, Andrew Fisher and Justin Rhodes, all of whom contributed to a strong county presence in a highly competitive field.
