The BB&O Men’s Order of Merit came to an end at The Lambourne as both amateurs and pros battled it out in the Autumn Trophy & BB&O PGA Open. The conditions were tough and sporadic heavy down pours made it challenging however former BB&O first team player, Drew Rolfe set the pace in the PGA Open with a fantastic score of 67 (-5). Last week, Matthew Gough (The Springs) topped off a great season by winning the Junior Order of Merit at the Tyrrell Hatton Junior Masters but he wasn’t able to replicate his success as he finished +3. Freddie Wheeler (Tadmarton Heath) had a colourful card including 5 birdies on route to 73 (+1) alongside Alfie Westbrook (Frilford Heath) who just pipped second place on count back. A few late bogeys for Dom Mayling (Castle Royle) slipped him down to T4 alongside Patrick Knightly (Burford) and Logan Matthews (Goring & Streatley). Despite having 2 bogies on the card, Calum Miller (Badgemore Park) fired a 68 (-4) to take the lead in the Autumn Trophy but a bogey on the 18th stopped him contending for the PGA Open. This wasn’t the only trophy Calum picked up, as his consistency and two wins throughout the season secured him the BB&O Men’s Order of Merit!
Congratulations to Drew on winning the PGA Open & Calum on lifting the Autumn Trophy & OOM – a great end to the season!!
