Alfie wins on count back

The Futures Tour headed to North Oxford Golf Club on Sunday 18th June. The weather looked ominous from the start with thunder & lightning forecast, it was a race against the clock to get the boys finished. Mason Hayes (Feldon Valley) went out first and set a great pace for the U12 boys to follow after shooting a gross 87, net 63. Reuben Crighton (Lambourne) had his best round yet shooting 81 and matching Mason’s net 63. Sebastian Duffield (Sand Martins) finished in second place on count back to Reuben in the U12’s gross category. Thomas James (Frilford Heath) finished with two birdies to shoot an impressive 77 to take the lead in the U14’s age category. Billyjoe Temple (Buckinghamshire) matched Thomas’ 77 but just fell short on count back. Isaac Hayes (Feldon Valley) went one shot better with a 76. However Jakob Payne (Burford) claimed the victory with a gross 72.

Alex Keen (Gerrards Cross) set an early target for the U16’s shooting 72. Daniel Butteriss (Beaconsfield) had a steady round of 69 (+2) but it wasn’t good enough to lift the U16’s trophy as Alfie Burt shot level par on the back nine to sneak ahead on count back.
