Archie triumphs in Colts Championship

It was a cold morning at Huntercombe Golf Club on Tuesday 28th May for our Colts Championship where we had 30 Under 25’s fighting for the trophy. It was a tight leaderboard after the morning round with 10 boys shooting 75 or better. Our 2018 champion Will Shakleton (Buckinghamshire) was leading the way shooting a level par 70, just two shots ahead of the chasing pack.

As the sun came out the scores improved for the second round, Jack Parry (Huntercombe) had a nett 71 & 70 to win the nett prize just 1 shot ahead of Luke Perkins on 142. Will Shackleton continued his fine form into the afternoon firing a second level par round to finish 140. However, Archie Smith (Bearwood Lakes) had 4 birdies and an eagle on route to shooting 67 (-3) to pip Will by one shot. A very impressive round!

Thank you to Marcus and the team at Huntercombe for hosting another fantastic Colts Championship!
