BB&O Triangular Trophy

BB&O Triangular Trophy

BB&O Triangular Trophy

The Triangular Trophy is regarded as the Season Opener in BB&O. This was the third staging of the match where the Junior Elite, First Team and Seniors do battle over 36 holes. Frilford Heath was the venue and our thanks must go to Frilford Heath for their hospitality and for presenting a great golf course to play on. The morning foursomes was a tight affair but the First Team had an early narrow lead of half a point over the juniors with the seniors four points back. This left it all to play for going into the afternoon singles.

There were some all star matches throughout the draw and it’s a testament to the BB&O Coaching programme that as a county we are able to field such strength in depth across all three teams. The First Team were victorious for the second year running with a total points tally of 16.5 with the Juniors on 13 and the Seniors on 6.5. There were echos around the room that suggested the seniors team ‘Ran out of petrol’ during the second round. Congratulations to Ashley Walton & Simon Hopkins for captaining the First Team to victory and Ashley quite rightly said ‘The real winners are BB&O as a county’. We wish everyone all the very best individually and collectively for the forthcoming season.
