Ben is our U25 Champion

The weather surprised everyone as it rained on the morning of the U25 Championship at Huntercombe. Samuel Codrington (Woburn) came in early with a 72 (+2) to set a target for the later players. Ben McFadden (Castle Royle) didn’t get off to the best of starts as he shot +4 on the front nine, however after a hole in 1 on the 10th, his round soon turned around. Ben birdied the 11th, 13th and 16th to come back in 30 and take the clubhouse lead on 69 (-1). Oscar Fuentes (Bearwood Lakes) holed a 20ft putt on the 18th to match Ben’s 69. Ella Butteriss (Beaconsfield) shot a 78 (+6) to win the best girl’s prize by 2 shots ahead of Niki Sutton from Frilford Heath.

Ben’s score looked hard to beat as he remained at the top of the leaderboard as the rest of the field started to come in. After waiting for nearly 3 hours, Ben was crowned the U25 Champion on count back to Oscar Fuentes and Charlie Herbert (Harewood Downs).

Congratulations to our winners today and Ben on a hole in 1!

Thank you for Huntercombe for hosting a great event.
