Billyjoe wins at Studley Wood

The second Futures Tour event of the season took place at Studley Wood Golf Club on Sunday 11th May. The heat and strong winds proved to be a challenge. However, Reuben Crighton (Lambourne) birdied the 18th to sneak ahead in the U12’s division to beat Arthur Scott (The Caversham) by 1 shot. Finlay Kirkham (Chesham & Ley Hill) shot -1 his handicap to clinch the U14’s net division. Meanwhile in the scratch division, Jackson Tuohy (Tadmarton Heath) had 5 birdies on his way to take the top spot ahead of Troy Buttimer (Frilford Heath).

Sam Blake (Kirtlington) had a very good back nine to pip Alfie Jones (Chiltern Forest) on count back in the U16’s net division on -2. Louie Pullan (The Caversham) sat just one shot back on -1. It was a close contest in the U16’s gross division as after 9 holes Ollie O’Dell (The Springs) and Isaac Hayes (Feldon Valley) were both level par. However a -1 back nine from Billyjoe Temple (Buckinghamshire) secured him the victory as he finished on level par, 2 shots ahead of his nearest competitor.

Congratulations to Reuben, Jackson and Billyjoe on winning their respective age categories.
