Carl Wins The Double

Carl Wins The Double

The Autumn Trophy, which is the final Order of Merit event, took place at The Lambourne Golf Club on Sunday 11th September. This fantastic even has amateurs and professionals playing alongside each other. Guy Woodman got the professionals underway by shooting a level par round, whilst his playing partner, Barry Allen (Chiltern Forest), shot a +1 (73) to set a clubhouse target for the amateurs. Jack Dyer (Castle Royle) had a very steady round to match Guy on level par (72). Joe Simpson (Pro), Tom Wilde (Castle Royle) and Simon McGreal (Pro) joined the party at level par, but with just a few of the later groups to come in, nobody had managed to dip below par. Carl Banner (Beaconsfield) emerged from this quality field and had 4 birdies on his way to shooting 69 (-3) and take the clubhouse lead which would prove to be the winning score. Rory Browne (Feldon Valley) had 16 pars on his way to shooting -1 (71) as did Adam Wootton (Pro) and Ian Campbell (Pro).

Congratulations to Carl Banner on becoming the 4th amateur to win both the Autumn Trophy & Open Championship.

Congratulations to Connor Jacob & Adam Birdseye on winning the Order of Merits.
