Caversham Heath Triumph

It was a damp start to the Club Foursomes at Burford Golf Club with the greenkeepers working hard to ensure the course was playable. We had 36 teams representing 26 clubs in our Scratch and Handicap Club Foursomes. Harry Powell & Harry West (Calcot Park) started strong with a gross 72 and nett 69 in the morning round to lead the scratch and nett competitions ahead of Ross Hampshire & Michael Lawton from Studley Wood. 

The sun came out for the afternoon session, Harry Powell & Harry West continued their form into the afternoon shooting a nett 72 (141) to claim the handicap prize ahead of Kye Machin & Mark Simpson (Reading/Caversham Heath) who shot a 142 total. The tables turned in the gross competition as Kye & Mark shot a gross afternoon score of 71 – the lowest score of the day – to pinch the gross prize from Harry & Harry.
