Champion Club & Courage Trophy

Champion Club & Courage Trophy

Woburn was the host venue for the 2017 Champion Club and Courage Trophy events. The Dukes course played up to its championship status with scoring proving to be difficult despite good weather conditions. The Champion Club was won by the home team Woburn with John Kemp, newly crowned English Mid Age Champion Stephen Jensen and Jack Bartlett making up the three. Their combined score of 441 (+9) was good enough to give them victory by three strokes over a very strong Stoke Park team of Tom Lawson, Jonny Griggs and Andrew Lynch. Back in third on 453 (+21) was the young Castle Royle trio of David Langley, Tim Shin and Harrison Arnold. Woburn will go to East Devon Golf Club on 23rd and 24th September to represent BB&O in the national finals. We wish them the very best of luck.

In the fiercely contested Courage Trophy it was another home win with Jack Bartlett taking home the trophy. His wonderful score of 141 (-3) was good enough to win by 4 strokes from Andrew lynch. Andrew pipped David Langley on countback with both scoring 145 (+1).  This is the second year in a row where Woburn have taken the spoils in both events so a huge congratulations to everyone at the club.
