Club Foursomes

Club Foursomes

Tim Shin & Harrison Arnold (Castle Royle)

The 2017 Club Foursomes was played at a sun soaked Mill Ride. With perfect scoring conditions and pure greens it looked to be set up perfectly but the golf course showed its teeth and proved a very difficult test for everyone. Not one pair broke the par of 72. The Castle Royle pair of Tim Shin and Harrison Arnold who have both represented the First Team this year and were part of the team who represented BB&O at The Eastern Counties Foursomes at Seacroft took the scratch title with a total of 150. This was compiled of a best of the day 72 in the morning which gave them a two shot lead at lunch. An afternoon round of 78 was good enough to take the title by two shots. In second place were the Ellesborough pair of Luke Richardson and Phil Cuthbert. Back in third on 153 were the Burford pairing of Jon Wilks and Joe Simpson. The AM scratch was won by Rory Browne and William McCoombes (Feldon Valley) with 74 and the PM scratch was won by Harry Noton and Joshua Taylor (Woburn) with 76.

The net competition was won by Peter Davidson and Simon Warren (Sonning) who shot net scores of 77 and 75. This pipped Calcot Parks pairing of Charlie Guest and Shane Slatter on countback. In third place with a total of 153 was Andrew laird and Barry Pawley (Tadmarton Heath).
