Colts Championship

Colts Championship

Jordan Garnish (The Oxfordshire) ran away with the Colts Championship at Huntercombe on 26th May winning by 8 shots from Sandy Bolton (Goring & Streatley) after rounds of 68 and 71. There has only been one occasion of a higher margin when Andy Jackson beat Steve Pilgrim by 9 in 1975 and coming close to that was Van Phillips 7 shot win over Rob Watts in 1991. A little bit of history for you!

Many of the players were unable to cope with relative shortness of the course and found themselves in the woods when they got their Drivers out. However, Jordan managed the course admirably and had just five bogies all day complemented with 4 birdies and an eagle. In the Handicap section Dominic O’Rourke (Hadden Hill) took the Busby Bowl with a score of 143 with Charlie Brown (Castle Royle) in second spot on 145.
