Colts Championship

Colts Championship

Again, we had another rain affected day at Huntercombe for the Colts Championship on 31st May. One year we will get some sunshine to play on this lovely course. We managed to get the first round finished but the forecast was not good for the afternoon and the Championship Committee declared the result based on the first round scores. Given the weather the scoring was still very good from the top 10 all of whom finished with 75 or better.

The round of the day though came from Damien Hewitt (Sonning) whose 71 was very impressive in such bad conditions. This enabled him to finish 2 shots clear of Rymer Smith (Buckinghamshire), Kye Machin (Reading) and Jack Nutall (Ellesborough). Jack plays on our Futures Tour and this was a great effort from the youngster. A fellow Futures Tour player, Harry Morris (East Berkshire), won the Handicap Busby Bowl with a fine 68 winning on count back from James Evans (Frilford Heath) and Jack Nutall.
