Daniel wins Centenary Championship

Daniel wins Centenary Championship

During our centenary year, each golf club was given the opportunity to host a qualifier for the BB&O Centenary Championship. The winner from each qualifier could compete in the final at Frilford Heath in September. The weather was not in our favour in September as the players needed to be called off the course before they could complete their round. After the first attempt at running the Centenary Championship got cancelled due to thunder and lighting, the players headed back to Frilford Heath for a second time on Sunday 13th October.

The sun shone on those that made the journey back to Frilford Heath. Matthew Yerrell (Chesham & Ley Hill) set the pace with 35 points. However not long after, Daniel Bowsher (West Berkshire) carded 38 points to take the clubhouse lead. Martin Mannings  (Huntswood) had a great front nine which put him in contention with 38 points but Daniel’s superb back nine of 22 points meant he snuck ahead on count back. Richard Triggs (Gerrards Cross) crept into third place ahead of Matthew with 36 points. Congratulations to Daniel Bowsher on winning the BB&O Centenary Championship.
