David wins first Senior Series event

The first Senior Series event took place at Frilford Heath. Designed to introduce county golf to new “senior” talent, it was great to see such a strong turn out with 44 players competing in the scratch stableford. John Kennedy (Frilford Heath) went out first and shot a solid 37 points which seemed hard to match as he remained at the top of the leaderboard for the majority of the day. David Niven (East Berkshire) was able to match the 37 points but pip John to the top spot on count back. With only a few groups left to come in all eyes were on the final few players. John Kemp (Woburn) was as consistent as ever and finished alongside David and John on 37 points, but again just missed out on count back to David.

Congratulations to David on winning the first event in the Senior Series! We look forward to the next event at East Berkshire next year.
