Ed shoots 70 to win lift the trophy

The Futures Tour came to an end at Frilford Heath on Wednesday 27th October, where 60 boys were competing for their chance to pick up some final Order of Merit points. It was close in the U12’s with Sander Andreasen (Maidenhead) leading the U12’s Order of Merit by 1 point and needing a solid finish to lift the trophy. Sander had a steady round shooting 84, and finished 3rd on the day. However this was not enough to win the Order of Merit as Josh Waldegrave (Gerrards Cross) went 1 better to sneak ahead and win the U12 Order of Merit. Jakob Payne (Bicester) shot a great score of 80 to win the U12 event at Frilford Heath.

Daniel Butteriss (Beaconsfield) was leading the U14 Order of Merit ahead of Alfie Burt (Wexham Park). Regardless of the result at Frilford Heath, Daniel was assured of winning the U14 Order of Merit due to his consistency throughout the season. Ollie Kelloway (Woburn) shot 77 to lead the way in the U14’s gross event, 3 shots ahead of Harvey Cooper (Huntercombe) who finished second.

The Under 16’s Order of Merit was tight going into the final event. Simon Mead (Newbury & Crookham) was leading the way with Connor Jacob (Goring & Streatley) close behind. Connor had a good round of 73 which unfortunately was not enough to lift the trophy finishing in 4th (3rd in the Order of Merit). Ed Davis (Studley Wood) had a superb round of 70 (-2) which resulted in him climbing the Order of Merit leader board and finishing 3 points ahead of Simon Mead to secure the trophy. Ed won the U16 gross prize at Frilford, 2 shots ahead of Drew Rolfe (Calcot Park) and Toby Pressey (Castle Royle).

Congratulations to Josh, Dan and Ed on winning their respective Order of Merits. Thank you to Frilford Heath on hosting a great final and to all the venues throughout the season.
