Eddie Pepperell Invitational

Eddie Pepperell Invitational

In the not too distant past Eddie Pepperell represented BB&O at boys and mens level. Fast forward to present day and he is a well established European Tour player with Major experience. Despite a busy schedule Eddie found time to entertain 36 lucky juniors from across BB&O at his annual invitational event at Frilford Heath. The day started with a short game clinic where Eddie displayed his wide variety of short game skills and no matter how difficult a shot the boys asked him to play he managed to do so. The boys asked some great questions and Eddie was more than happy to pass on any advice.

The day didn’t end there, the boys were put into teams and headed out on the wonderful Red course at Frilford Heath where they would each play 2 holes with Eddie. This allowed Eddie to guide the boys through the holes, talk strategy and show them his enviable long game. Eddie played wonderfully and had many birdies but he even threw in the very occasional bad shot just to prove to the boys he is human which was all part of his master plan or at least that’s what he told us.

The day ended with a Q&A session with Eddie hosted by Frilford Heath’s Golf Manager Dan Blesovsky. This gave the boys an insight into Tour life and provided Eddie with one last chance to pass on some nuggets of information to help the boys improve their golf.

This really was a day that money can’t buy and who knows the next “Eddie Pepperell” may well come from the bunch of talented boys that took part. I would like to take this opportunity to say on behalf of everybody at BB&O how grateful we are that Eddie has hosted this day for the third consecutive year and we hope to continue our relationship in the future.
