Eddie Pepperell Invitational

Eddie Pepperell Invitational

36 lucky boys spent their Bank Holiday Monday at Frilford Heath with European Tour star & former BB&O junior Eddie Pepperell. Fresh back from his 9th place in the Czech Masters Eddie spent an hour on the chipping green demonstrating a whole array of different short game shots. The boys had the opportunity to ask any questions and Eddie talked them through a range different techniques and how best to practice.

All 36 boys took to the wonderful Blue Course at Frilford Heath where each group would play 2 holes with Eddie. This gave the boys the opportunity to watch Eddie’s long game close up and even test their skills against his. Eddie commented on how impressed he was with the technical ability of the players and their attitude towards the game. There was a fun event that the players were playing in and the winners were Huw Pearson (Buckingham) & Archie Sollis (Cotswold Club) who won a signed shirt each. However, these were not just any shirts they were exact replicas of the shirt that Eddie wore on the final day when he won the Qatar Masters earlier in the year.

The day concluded with a Q&A hosted by BB&O President Alistair Booth. Eddie openly talked about ‘Life on Tour’, goal setting & his memories of playing golf as a junior. We can’t thank Eddie enough for taking the time out of his busy schedule and we wish him all the best for the remainder of the season. A special thank you must go to Eddie’s home club, Frilford Heath for hosting the event.
