Freddie wins at Ellesborough

The Futures Tour started the 2023 season at Ellesborough Golf Club on Wednesday 5th April. We had a strong turn out for the first event of the year with 58 boys competing. Mason Hayes (Feldon Valley) finished second in the U12’s division in his first ever Futures Tour event with a gross 95 on count back to Flynn Kennard (Bearwood Lakes). Sebastian Duffield (Sand Martins) had a very steady round taking the top spot in the U12’s event with a gross 83. Luke Waldegrave (Gerrards Cross) finished with a net 73 to take the U12’s net prize.

Alfie Jones (Chilterns Forest) had a superb round in his first Futures Tour event, playing 6 under his handicap he finished with a net 65 to win the U14’s net prize. Gus Leetham from Buckingham shot a very steady round finishing with a gross 79 which sat at the top spot of the U14’s leaderboard until Josh Waldegrave (Gerrards Cross) came in one shot better (78). Kai Radmore (Hazlemere) set a clubhouse target for the U16’s category with a gross 76 (+5). Freddie Wheeler (Tadmarton Heath) has 3 birdies on the back nine on his way to shooting 74 and take the top spot. Olly Hunt (Halzemere) had 2 birdies in his last 3 holes to steal the U16’s net prize by 1 shot ahead of Oscar Bolton (Drayton Park).
