The BB&O Futures Tour returns to action at Temple Golf Club on Wednesday 8th April, setting the stage for an exciting day of emerging talent and competitive golf.
Conditions were near perfect, with calm winds and firm, fast fairways expected to reward precision and thoughtful course management. As the sun provided the warmest day of the year so far we knew it was set to be a fair but demanding test for the field. A strong turnout of developing players from across the BB&O region highlights the continued growth of the Futures Tour, which plays a vital role in nurturing the next generation of competitive golfers. With handicaps tightly matched, scoring opportunities will need to be taken early, while patience will be key on the more challenging closing stretch.
Sebastian Leverett (Woburn) took charge of the U14’s division after bouncing back and regaining momentum on the back nine to shoot 76 finishing above Arthur Scott (The Caversham) on count back. However, Henry Sharma (Beaconsfield) had a fantastic round shooting 72 to clinch the victory.
The U16’s division was closely contested with Himal Gurung (Woburn) taking the victory 1 shot ahead of James Loran (The Buckinghamshire), who finished with a birdie at 17 and eagle at 18 to sneak into second place on count back to Luke Waldegrave (Gerrards Cross).
Rex Pickavance (Castle Royle) set the pace in the U12’s division shooting 79 to finish ahead of Alessandro Zhang (Beaconsfield)
Congratulations to our winners at Temple Golf Club – Himal Gurung (U16), Henry Sharma (U14) & Rex Pickavance (U12).
With the first event of the season completed, attention now turns to the next stop on the BB&O Futures Tour – Studley Wood, where players will aim to build on their performances and continue their progression.
