Futures Tour Frilford Heath

Futures Tour Frilford Heath

It was a fresh morning at Friford Heath for the final event of the 2018 Futures Tour. There were the normal age group trophies up for grabs as well as the Order of Merit prizes which have been competed for all year.

The U12 section was won by Simon Mead (Newbury & Crookham) with a fine gross score of 86. In second just a single shot behind was Harvey Dobson (Wexham Park). The net section was won by James Lewis (Goring & Streatley) with an impressive score of 72. Just 2 shots behind in second was home player Alfie Westbrook (Frilford Heath). Simon Mead secured the OOM title after recording a staggering 9 wins during the season. A mightily impressive level of consistency which secured him top spot.

The U14 section was won by Ben McFaden (Stoke Park) after carding 76. In second was Connor Jacob (Frilford Heath) after also scoring 76 but narrowly missing out on countback. The net section was won by Teddy Devlin (Newbury & Crookham) who signed for a best of the day 67. This was good enough to win the net by just one stroke as Kalan Niyarapola (Cotswold Club) fired a 68. The U14 OOM was won by Tom Stephenson-Green (Frilford Heath) who has played some great golf during the year which included victories at 3 events.

The U15 age group was won by Ben Loveard (Woburn) after recording the best gross score of the day, 72. In second and 3 shots behind was Finlay Szafnauer (Frilford Heath). The net section was won by Huw Pearson (Buckingham) with 73 and just 1 shot behind was Harry Gale (Goring & Streatley). The U15 OOM was won by Charlie Roper (The Berkshire) which included victories in 3 events.

Thank you to Frilford Heath for hosting the final event of 2018 and for presenting the golf course in great condition. All 2019 event dates will be released on our website in the coming weeks and all events will be available to enter online in January 2019. We hope to see you all next year.
