Handicap Championship

Handicap Championship

The first ever Handicap Championship was held at Denham Golf Club on Tuesday 24th July. The players had to endure warm conditions on what was the hottest day of the year. The course showed its teeth and proved to play very difficult. The winner was Steve Lewington (Newbury & Crookham) who fired 36 points. A point back on 35 was Jim Stephenson (Ellesborough). This beat Roger Shaw (Burnham Beeches) on countback after he also scored 35 points. In fourth on 34 points was Nick Hayward-Cook (Ellesborough) who beat four other players who also scored 34 points. Our thanks must go to the staff at Denham for hosting us wonderfully throughout the day.
