Hillman Plate Final

Hillman Plate Final

The final of the Hillman Plate took place over the beautiful Huntercombe Golf Course on Saturday 7th October. Conditions were cool and windy making for a very good test of golf.

Woburn, who were Trophy Champions last year, opened strongly when Alan Featherstone beat Tyler Ward. In the second match some fantastic golf from Charlie Norcott beat Woburn stalwart Mo Dewji who himself played solidly. A communication mix up meant that Richard Bradford of Woburn won a point as his opponent was a little late on the tee. Justin Pardy and Dave Fensome of Woburn took the next two points from Dave Elkins and Keith Hayton of Richings Park and then those two results were reversed when Mark Collins and Paul Barrington defeated Mark Collender and David Allison.

This left Woburn one point ahead and Richings wondering what might have been. At the presentation, Richings Park congratulated Woburn warmly and expressed their thanks to Huntercome for hosting a wonderful final.
