John & Olly on foursomes winning streak

John Gough & Olly Huggins were selected to compete for England at Home Internationals on 15th – 17th September. On Wednesday they were paired together in the foursomes and were bogey free to win 5&3. In the afternoon singles, Olly was won his match 5&4 however John came up against a tough opponent and was 3 down after 9. John then birdied 5 of the last 7 holes to win his match on 18! England beat Wales 10.5 – 4.5. 

On day 2 England take on Scotland. John and Olly were quick out the blocks in foursomes and were 4 up after nine, winning their match on the 14th. With England just edging forward with a 3-2 lead after the morning it’s all to play for this afternoon. John won 2&1 in the afternoon but Olly’s opponent had 3 birdies in the last 4 holes to win on 18. 

John & Olly continued their unbeaten streak in the foursomes against Ireland winning on the 18th hole after a very tight game! Olly got off to a flying start in the afternoon singles match winning 7&5. John’s match was a birdie blitz with 13 birdies in the match after 9 holes. John’s opponent made 2 birdies in the last 3 holes to half the match. 

A very impressive performance by Olly and John in the Home Internationals!
