Kennedy is BB&O Seniors Champion

Day 1

With the biggest field yet, the Seniors Championship was set to be a great event. 70 players headed to Gerrards Cross Golf Club for their chance to lift the trophy and become BB&O Seniors Champion. The rain was very persistent and continued through from start to finish. James Cowan (Mill Ride) had a steady round of 77 which saw him stay at the top of the leaderboard for a while. John Cox (Kirtlington) overtook James with a 74 which remained at the top until John Kennedy (Frilford Heath) came in with a 72. Andy Elmey (Frilford Heath) and Stewart Dalgarno (The Wychwood) sit in 3rd position heading into the second round tomorrow. With the weather looking to improve, it’s all to play for!

We would like to thank the green keepers of Gerrards Cross who stayed and helped make the greens playable despite the rain!

Day 2

The weather dramatically improved for the second round of the Senior Championships with glorious sunshine all day. Mark Simpson (Reading) took advantage of going out early with 4 birdies on the front nine which resulted in a 71. George Wilson (Calcot Park) shot a second round 74 to sit at +13 for the two rounds. John Cox (Kirtlington) finished the event with a 78 to finish on +14. John Kennedy (Frilford Heath) snuck into the lead on +12 after a second round 78. Chris Osbourne (Temple) was able to win the 70+ trophy by 1 shot ahead of Robert Gill (Gerrards Cross). John Cox lifted the 65-69 trophy and George Wilson won the 60-64 trophy. John Kennedy lifted both the 55-59 trophy plus the Senior Championship!

Congratulations to John on becoming our 2022 BB&O Seniors Champion!
