Nike Futures Tour Frilford Heath

Nike Futures Tour Frilford Heath

For the 4th time this year John and Conor Gough won their age group in the last event at Frilford Heath on 31st October. Playing the Green Course, John had a level par round of 69 finishing with 2 birdies to beat Club mate Ben Humphries by 1 shot. Anything less than a win would have given the Order of Merit title to Steven Stanhope or Nick Elmey. A great finish. In the Under 12 age group, a similar story was unfolding for that Order of Merit. Any of 3 boys could win the title as long as they won the event. Sebastian Tannum-Donaldson set the early pace until James Gregory came in with a 78 which meant Conor Gough had to beat him to win. A solid par at the last gave him a 77 and both trophies were heading back to Stoke Park.

A great season, with some wonderful golf and evidence of a number of rising stars for the future. Thanks to all the Clubs for hosting the events and to the Parents for running the boys all over the place. Next year’s schedule is already available with just one venue and date to be confirmed.
