Rhodes wins at East Berkshire

East Berkshire looked beautiful in the early morning winter sunshine as competitors teed off for their second Seniors Winter Series event. There is no doubt that the early morning frost made scoring tricky, and as the frost thawed the course certainly played it’s full length following the recent wet weather.

Mark Rogers (Maidenhead) took an early card countback lead over Gary Mumford (Woburn) before home player, David Niven returned a solid score of 32 points. In the final group, and with a fantastic first nine holes played in 32 shots, Justin Rhodes snatched a late victory with 34 points.

Our thanks must go to East Berkshire Golf Club for hosting the event so brilliantly, and Mike Partridge and David Westlake (both BB&O Golf Board members) for stepping in and running the event in the absence of BB&O staff who were caught up with Covid isolation issues.
