Sanders & Wilson are victorious

The Senior Series went to Newbury & Crookham Golf Club on Thursday 30th March. With a daunting weather forecast it looked to be a challenging day. Michael Lawson & Roger Taylor, both from Friflord Heath, went out early and set a clubhouse target of 68. The wind and rain held off and the sun tried to make an appearance. Ian Oakes (Denham) & Andrew Cobb (Ellesborough) took advantage of the better forecast and had a steady round with 4 birdies on the way to shooting 67 and taking the lead. Mike Sanders (Beaconsfield) & George Wilson (Calcot Park) had 6 birdies between them on their way to shooting 65 and snuck ahead of Ian & Andrew. John Kennedy (Frilford Heath) and Johnny Griggs (Maidenhead) finished on third place knocking Ian and Andrew out of the top 3. Mark Bradley & Martin Metcalfe both from Henley birdied the final hole to shoot 65 however this was not enough as they finished in second place on countback to Mike and George.

Congratulations to Mike and George on a great win!
