U14 Championship

U14 Championship

The U14 Championship was held at Castle Royle and with some tricky pins and quick greens it was set to be a tough afternoons golfing. It turned out to be a day of countbacks and Ben McFadden’s (Stoke Park) gross 78 was good enough to seal the victory from Sammie Colvin (Hennerton) & Finlay Szafnauer (Frilford Heath) who all shot the same score. It was great to see a hotly contested tournament with 8 players within 3 shots of the winning score. Ben follows in the footsteps of European Tour player Eddie Pepperell who won this title twice back in 2004 & 2005.

In the handicap competition Ben Withall (Wexham Park) took the victory again on countback from Zak Colvin (Hennerton) who both finished with a net 71. A good day for the Colvin brothers! The U12 prize was won by Connor Jacob (Newbury & Crookham) with a gross 89.
