Wilson wins at Temple

Storm Franklin didn’t stop 40 keen seniors from competing in the Senior Series event at Temple Golf Club on Monday 21st February. As winds gusted at 50mph, John Kennedy (Frilford Heath) set the pace with 31 points closely followed by Ashley Brewer (Denham) with 30 points. In between squally showers and gale force winds Nigel Lawton (Studley Wood) was able to match Ashley’s 30 points but snuck into second place on count back. Ian Oakes (Denham) had a solid back nine and also managed 31 points.

George Wilson (Calcot Park) stormed around with a very steady 17 points on both nines to finish with 34 points and take the lead. John Pocock challenged soon after with 33 points , and then after shooting 19 points (2 under) on the front nine, John Kemp (Woburn) matched George’s total, but just lost out on card countback. Congratulations to George for a terrific score in extremely difficult conditions.
