Wins for Beaconsfield Artisans, Wexham Park and Castle Royle

A busy weekend for clubs saw Beaconsfield Artisans face Newbury and Crookham in the Hillman Trophy at the same time that Wexham Park were up against Buckingham in the Plate. Although storms were brewing around The Caversham, the weather held and Sunday’s matches went ahead on time.

In the Plate, Wexham Park managed to hold off a strong Buckingham team and won 4 games to 3.

In the Trophy itself, on their way to the final, Beaconsfield Artisans managed to beat Temple Artisans, Calcot Park, Mapledurham, Wycombe Heights and Tadmarton Heath before finally toppling Newbury & Crookham in a thrilling final that went to the very last match.

Beaconsfield Artisans – Hillman Champions

Away from home, Castle Royle represented BB&O in the national Champion Club Championship at Stanton on the Wolds. Castle Royle had qualified earlier in the year having won our very own Champion Club and went with a strong pedigree having won the national finals in 2018 and lost out agonisingly last year. Once again, they proved too strong for the best clubs in the country and finished one shot clear of The South Staffordshire in a nail-biting finish. For full scores CLICK HERE
