Douglas Johns Trophy

Douglas Johns Trophy

Barclay Brown from Hallamshire follows his fellow Club Member, Alex Fitzpatrick, in taking the Douglas Johns Trophy back to Yorkshire for the second year in a row.

Scoring was good despite the sloping greens being exceptionally quick with one or two ‘exciting pin positions’. Best morning round was a 2 under par effort from Thomas Spreadborough (Farnham), who would eventually finish 4th overall. Next came Barclay Brown with a 68 and there were two other players 3 back afetr 71s.

The afternoon scoring was better as the players got used to the course and the best round of the day came from Nathan Moore (Long Ashton) with a 66 to add to his morning 73. This was good enough to earn him second spot on countback from Harry Goddard (Hanbury Manor) with a 68 adding to his 71 in the morning. Barclay is young enough to defend his Trophy next year and we will delighted to welcome him back if his schedule allows.

Barclay Brown – Douglas Johns Trophy

The winner of the Handicap prize was one of our very talented BB&O players – Thomas Gregory from Stoke Park. He is having a great year on our Nike Futures Tour and with a finish of joint 5th overall he is hoping to improve on that in the next two years.
