South East Seniors Final

South East Seniors Final

Our “nearly” year continued at Hadley Wood when the BB&O Seniors lost out to Hampshire 7-3 in the South East Group Finals. Having narrowly missed winning the Senior County Championships, expectations were high but with wins from just David Niven (Newbury & Crookham) and Bob Lander (Lambourne) and halves from Ian Oakes (Denham) and George Wilson (Calcot), the team fell short at the last hurdle.

Team Captain Ashley Brewer (Denham) thanked all of his players for what had been an excellent season on balance. The fact that BB&O had qualified for both the County Championships and the South East Final showed just what a strong squad and team spirit there was, and Ashley is targeting success in both competitions plus the Foursomes next year.

The Team at Hadley Wood – Ashley Brewer (Denham), Adrian Donkersley (Denham), Bob Lander (Lambourne), David Niven (Newbury & Crookham), Ian Oakes (Denham), Cliff Pearce (Whiteleaf), Malcolm Reid (Sonning), Phil Sewell (Castle Royle), Tim Whittaker (Beaconsfield), George Wilson (Calcot) with Rod Crisp (President)
