Marcus wins at Studley Wood

The BB&O Futures Tour headed to a brand new venue – Studley Wood – on Sunday 12th May. A field of 60 juniors aged between 10-16 competed for their chance to collect Order of Merit points. Order of Merit points are available for each age category (U12, U14 & U16) the player with the most points in each category at the end of the season will be awarded the trophy and win a Titleist golf bag. Faeez Chaudhary (Beaconsfield) finished birdie, birdie to shoot a fantastic score of 80 (nett 67) to set the pace in the U14 age category. Oliver O’Dell (The Springs) went 3 shots better shooting a gross 77 to take the U14 lead and with only three groups left to finish, it proved good enough to win the U14’s category. Jack Isard (Frilford Heath) led the way in the U16’s age category with a gross 78, however Harvey Cooper (Castle Royle) just snuck 1 shot ahead until the final group came in. In that group, Jakob Payne (Burford) shot -1 on the back nine to finish with 75, however Marcus Smith (Castle Royle) went 1 shot better to lift the U16’s trophy. Sebastian Duffield (Sand Martins) continues his fine form as he made 3 birdies on his way to shooting 75 (+2) to win the U12’s division. At just eleven years of age, and over such a long and demanding course, this was the stand out performance in what was a great day’s golf in fine weather.

Congratulations to Sebastian, Ollie & Marcus on winning their respective age categories.

Thank you to Studley Wood for hosting a fantastic event and we look forward to the next event at North Oxford.
