Tim wins Autumn Trophy

Tim wins Autumn Trophy

The final Order of Merit event, The Autumn Trophy, returned to Lambourne Golf Club on Sunday 15th September. The Autumn Trophy runs alongside the PGA BB&O Open which gives amateurs the opportunity to play alongside the best pro’s within BB&O. The Men’s Order of Merit was finalised before the first tee shot was hit as nobody could catch Harry Thomas after his consistent success this season. Congratulations to Harry on winning the Order of Merit – a fantastic achievement to round off a great season. Robert Daw set the pace in the professional’s event with a fantastic score of 65 (-7) which included 6 birdies and an eagle. Matthew McGrory (Denham) got the ball rolling in the Autumn Trophy with a flurry of birdies to card a 70 (-2) and take the clubhouse lead. Shane Slatter (Calcot Park) sat 2 shots back on level par. Martin Woodbridge shot -3 on the back nine to fight back into contention in the pro event but couldn’t match Robert’s 65 and finished 3 shots behind. It all came down to the final group, Tim Shin (Calcot Park) shot a flawless -5 (67) to secure the Autumn Trophy but just came up short of becoming the 5th amateur to win the BB&O PGA Open. Congratulations to Tim and Robert on winning their respective trophies.
