BB&O are Champions

BB&O are Champions

BB&O headed to Seacroft Golf Club to compete in the annual Eastern Counties Foursomes tournament. It was a slow start for BB&O against Essex and Leicestershire & Rutland however this quickly turned around after 9 holes as the team got 8.5 points after the morning session, 1 point ahead of Lincolnshire. In the afternoon session, BB&O faced Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. The games were close against Suffolk but the points fell in BB&O’s favour with another 8.5 points gained from the afternoon. BB&O finished on 17 points after day 1, Leicestershire & Rutland sit in second place on 12.5 points.

BB&O needed to remain consistent on day 2 for a chance of winning. Norfolk and Bedfordshire were a tough match in the morning with some very close matches resulting in BB&O gaining 5.5 points. This closed the gap as Leicestershire & Rutland and Lincolnshire had a strong morning meaning that BB&O led by 3.5 points going into the afternoon. BB&O played Lincolnshire in the afternoon which would be the deciding match. BB&O came up against steady opponents and won only 4 points. This meant that Leicestershire & Rutland or Lincolnshire could overtake BB&O at the top of the leaderboard. Lincolnshire needed 8.5 points to win and narrowly came up short meaning that BB&O were crowned Eastern Inter Counties Foursomes Champions, winning by 0.5 point!

Congratulations to the BB&O team, a fantastic performance showing determination all the way to the finish.
