Browne & Brockington are Champions

The BB&O Foursomes Championship took place at Maidenhead Golf Club on Friday 26th May. The sun was shining and the course looked magnificent, the conditions were perfect for golf. Marc Dimambro & Clint Hagen went out early and used their home advantage to shoot 75 to set a clubhouse target. Dean Newbold & Ashley Walton (Frilford Heath) were quick to match the 75. Rory Browne (Feldon Valley) & James Brockington (Henley) took advantage of the good weather and shot 73 which was matched by Matthew Callanan & Charlie O’Brien (Woburn). However, they finished 1 short of Adam Birdseye & Alfie Forisky (Maidenhead) who had the clubhouse lead after round 1 (72).

The scores improved after lunch, Bradley Tuckett & Harry Powell (Calcot Park) played their way into the event with a level par 70. Matthew & Charlie followed up their 73 with a steady 75 and set a clubhouse target for the final groups to beat. Adam & Alfie couldn’t match their morning round resulting in a third place finish. Rory & James’ eagle on 17 proved crucial as they snuck into the lead and clinched the victory. Matthew and Charlie finished 3 shots back in second place, lifting the handicap & club trophy.

Congratulations to Rory & James on becoming the BB&O Foursomes Champions!
