Colts Championship

Colts Championship

The Colts Championship has been blighted by poor weather in previous years and unfortunately this year was no different. The weather held off for the morning round and all players were able to finish their rounds. Unfortunately half way through the afternoon rounds thunder and lightning moved into the area which forced us into the decision of abandoning the second round. William Shackleton’s (Buckinghamshire) morning round of 71 (+1) was good enough to beat Phil Williams (Buckinghamshire) & Harry Bowness (Newbury & Crookham) to the title after they both shot 72. Phil pipped Harry to second place on countback.

In the net section James Casserly (Beaconsfield) fired a 68 which beat Futures Tour regular Finlay Szafnauer (Frilford Heath) by a single stroke. Our thanks must got to Huntercombe Golf Club and its members for allowing us to host the event and for their hospitality throughout the day. Lets hope for better weather next year.
